A slight increase in temperature is normal. However, if the unit becomes hot to the touch or the temperature continues to rise, this is abnormal and is usually caused by a malfunctioning cooling fan, poor water circulation, or excessive dust buildup. You should shut down the machine immediately for inspection to prevent damage to the optical path power supply.

Q How should the phototherapy handpiece be properly cleaned and maintained?
